Cellulaze

For many individuals, cellulite can be a very frustrating condition. Though many people believe cellulite is caused by fat, cellulite is actually caused by a structural problem beneath the skin. While certain factors like hormones, age, genetics and weight fluctuations can contribute to cellulite, it can occur in anyone regardless of weight or size and it can be very difficult to improve despite even the best attempts at diet and exercise. To date, there have been hundreds of treatments promising to banish cellulite, from creams and topical treatments, to dietary supplements, massage and more. However, few of these treatments have been truly effective until now.

Cellulaze is a revolutionary, minimally-invasive, laser-assisted treatment for cellulite that addresses the structural problems beneath the skin. The dimpled, "cottage cheese" appearance associated with cellulite is actually caused by stiffening of the connective tissue bands beneath the skin and bulging of the fat cells that surround them. Cellulaze utilizes laser technology to release the fibrous bands that pull down on the skin while also leveling out the bumps of fat for a smoother appearance. At the same time, Cellulaze helps to increase the skin's natural thickness and elasticity for a more youthful, taut appearance.

Dr. Richard Gentile is an internationally recognized, board certified plastic surgeon with locations in Youngstown, Akron, and Cleveland, Ohio. He performs Cellulaze with local anesthesia or a numbing solution and treatment takes just 1 to 1.5 hours to complete. Several tiny incisions which measure about the size of a pen tip are made in the treatment area. The Cellulaze™ laser fiber is fitted inside of a very small cannula and then inserted through the incision sites, applying the laser energy to the area while liquefying excess fat and removing it. Treatment Recovery is quick with patients experiencing some minor bruising and discomfort. Though a compression garment will need to be worn for a period of time, most patients are back to work and other normal activities within one to two days. Results are immediate with continued improvement for three to twelve months.

Cellulaze FAQs

Q – What is cellulite?

A – Cellulite is a condition in which the skin takes on a dimpled appearance similar to cottage cheese. It may occur in individuals of all size and weight. Cellulite is difficult to improve with diet and exercise because it is caused by a structural issue beneath the skin whereby the underlying connective tissue bands thicken, causing the surrounding fat cells to bulge around them.

Q – What causes cellulite?

A – Cellulite occurs when the underlying connective tissue bands tighten, trapping the surrounding fat cells and causing them to push up and bulge. Certain factors like age, weight fluctuations, hormones, and heredity can contribute to cellulite.

Q – What is Cellulaze?

A – Cellulaze is a revolutionary, minimally-invasive cellulite treatment which uses laser technology to improve the appearance of cellulite. The laser technology helps to cut the fibrous bands that pull down on the skin while also removing excess fat, thus leveling out the dimpled appearance for a smoother look.

Q – Is Cellulaze painful?

A – There is little pain or discomfort associated with Cellulaze. Patients receive local anesthesia or a numbing solution prior to treatment and then discomfort is minimal afterward.

Q – How long is the Cellulaze treatment?

A – Treatment with Cellulaze takes approximately 1 to 1.5 hours.

Q – What is the recovery like after Cellulaze treatment?

A – The recovery after treatment with Cellulaze is minimal and most patients are able to return to work within one to two days. Some minor bruising and discomfort can be expected and s compression garment will need to be worn for a period of time.
