SO WHAT ABOUT FILLERS?

Fillers are fun. Fun for me means extraordinarily safe and extraordinarily effective. This was not always true. Twenty five years ago we used bovine collagen. It lasted six weeks, had to be over corrected, and looked un-natural for two weeks.  Human collagen came next and other than reduction in sensitivity reactions, did not add much benefit.  None of that is the case now. Hyaluronic (HA) acid changed everything. It is made in a lab, no longer using animal or human sources.  Chemically, it is essentially just like what is naturally in your body.  HA’s are clear gels. Over correction is not necessary.  “What you see is what you get” and you are presentable five minutes after your procedure.  Officially, the change can last as long as a year.  Patients report results as long as three to five years.  The newest version of HA may actually have double the duration.  Since the latest preparations of HA contain a local anesthetic there is very little discomfort with injection.  The procedure is performed daily in my office for deep nasolabial folds, marionette and perioral lines, and lip enhancement.

Does anybody really “Need” a Park Avenue Facelift?

I think if we look at this question there are a few questions to ask & answer. If we substitute “Manhattan Facelift” for “Park Avenue Facelift” or even “Beverly Hills Facelift” we know for a fact it is going to be awfully expensive.

FAT GRAFTING AND FAT TRANSFER REVERSAL

Fat grafting creates a natural augmentation for the face using your own “filler”. Fat is usually harvested from the abdomen, flanks, or inner thighs; and about one third of the volume remains after the treatment.
