Is a Brow Lift Painful?

During surgery, the anesthesia will keep you pain-free. Post-surgery, minor discomfort, swelling, and bruising are typical during the first ten days after surgery but will abate. The recovery process should not be painful, and over-the-counter medication should be enough to provide you with relief.

How Many Appointments Will I Need?

Dr. Gentile will have you return to the practice a few days after the surgery to remove any drains and monitor recovery. You will be asked to return within a week to remove the sutures. Beyond that, he will let you know when he would like to see you next.

How Long Until I See Results?

While the results of your brow lift are instantaneous, they take time to settle as swelling and bruising resolve. Patients are told to give themselves six months for their final brow line to settle.

Can I Combine a Brow Lift With Other Procedures?

What to Expect
on the Day of
Brow Lift Surgery

On the day of your Cleveland area brow lift, Dr. Gentile and his staff will welcome you and get you settled in the surgical suite. They will review your surgical plan to make sure there are no outlying questions or concerns. Once you give the go-ahead, a board-certified anesthesiologist will administer local anesthesia to ensure that you are pain-free throughout the surgery.

Once sedated, Dr. Gentile will use an endoscope to make small incisions along your hairline. Once he gains access to underlying muscles, he will lift the underlying muscle and tissue for a firmer, smoother forehead and brow area until he feels he has met your aesthetic goals. As he wraps up the procedure, Dr. Gentile will close the tiny incisions with sutures.

Brow Lift Recovery

You will be monitored in the recovery room after your brow lift procedure. You should be able to return home the same day, ideally with the help of a family member or friend driving you home.

Patients are recommended to take time off from work and their normal routine for the first week as swelling and bruising resolve. During this time, they are also encouraged to keep their head elevated.
