What to Expect
on the Day of
Buccal Fat Removal Surgery

After your buccal fat removal, you will be monitored by our staff in the recovery room to make sure your sedation wears off. Patients are encouraged to have a friend or relative provide them with a ride home as they might still be under the influence of sedation.

Initial swelling and soreness are expected to subside in the first week. Swelling will continue to subside, and your results will be seen as early as four weeks post-surgery and progressively improve for several months thereafter.

Patients should minimize using the mouth area and be extra careful as they chew their food.
