Energy-driven facelifting techniques represent a relatively new technical approach to facelifts. Tesla Facelift?

A Tesla facelift is the combination of using an energy device during traditional facelift surgery, making the facelift “high definition” or “Tesla.” This hybrid procedure has transformed the facelift procedure because it permits a level of face and neck contouring well beyond what was achievable through purely surgical techniques. The energy used in performing the surgery contracts and remodels the deep plane layers of the skin, resulting in superior definition and skin tightening. What to Expect
on the Day of
Tesla Facelift Surgery

On the day of your Tesla facelift at Gentile Plastic Surgery, Dr. Gentile and his staff will receive you at the practice and get you settled in the surgical suite. A member of the staff will review your plan and ensure you are fully comfortable to proceed with it. Then, a board-certified anesthesiologist will administer the medicine appropriate for your specific procedure. This maximizes patient comfort and allows Dr. Gentile to work uninterrupted.

When you are asleep, Dr. Gentile will sanitize your face and make small incisions. He will use the energy device to stimulate and access parts of the face that the surgical instruments cannot reach. He will then slowly start crafting your facial anatomy to fit the aesthetic you desire. Once the procedure is complete, Dr. Gentile will close the small incisions with dissolvable sutures and, if necessary, insert drains to prevent fluid buildup.

Recovery

Most patients can return to their daily activities ten to fourteen days after undergoing facelift surgery. However, strenuous jobs and vigorous activities such as aerobics, alcohol consumption, saunas, and steam baths must be postponed for several months or until Dr. Gentile advises otherwise. You will visit the doctor shortly after your surgery so he can assess your progress and recovery.
