PRESS RELEASE – DR. RICHARD GENTILE PRESENTS LANDMARK STUDY ON NEW TREATMENT FOR ACNE SCARRING
Dr. Richard Gentile a board certified Facial Plastic Surgeon with offices in Youngstown, Akron and Cleveland Ohio presented a Landmark Study on treatment for acne scarring at the recent American Academy of Facial Plastic Surgery meeting held in New Orleans Louisiana. The meeting was held September 20-22 and featured Facial Plastic Surgeons from all over the world. It was a great pleasure to present our data from a study which is the first to examine the effectiveness of laser energy introduced underneath longstanding acne scarring. The study demonstrated that when a tiny laser which can fire in 3-Dimensions is used to treat the undersurface of the skin improvement to the acne scars near by is significant . As noted by Dr. Gentile I was pleased to see that this approach worked for acne scar treatment and was also pleased to be able to treat patients of color in our study. Many pateints of color with acne scarring cannot be treated with lasers targeting the top of the skin due to side effects.” Dr. Gentile also noted that treating active acne was also possible and that the patients treated with the subcutaneous laser who had active acne were markedly improved.”
Dr, Gentile gave several other presentations at the meeting and reported the results of the Cellulaze laser in treating cellulite. He also presented an instructional course reviewing current techniques in blepharoplasty, brow and forehead lifting and introduced the new concept of dermascultping with tiny cannulas for under eyelid bags and dark circles…
