Presents topics in Facial Plastic Surgery to European Academy of Facial Plastic Surgery
Dr. Richard Gentile a board certified Facial Plastic Surgeon with offices in Youngstown, Akron and Cleveland Ohio was a featured speaker in Oslo, Norway at the 36th Congress of the European Academy of Facial Plastic Surgery August 29th – September 1, 2013. Dr. Gentile joined international faculty from the USA as well as Italy, Australia, India, Canada, Norway and 35 other countries.
"It was a great pleasure to share our techniques with our European colleagues who like the Americans share a keen interest in cosmetic surgery" said Dr. Gentile, "I was honored to be able to teach them the interesting developments in laser assisted face-lifting as well as particulars of our surgical approaches and philosophy in eyelid rejuvenation, laser skin rejuvenation and the specialized use of facial fillers."
Dr. Gentile gave 5 presentations reviewing current techniques in blepharoplasty, brow and forehead lifting, face-lifting, and skin rejuvenation. He chaired a panel on modern facial rejuvenation techniques with panelists from Europe and the USA and Asia. Dr. Gentile notes that the European Facial Plastic Surgeons are highly skilled in their surgical approaches and many had received specialized training in the USA.
The scientific program was outstanding but as Dr. Gentile notes "it was particularly fascinating to spend time with our colleagues from 36 nations about in medicine and life in general." The Congresses are usually preceded by a brief tour of the host country and Congress president Jarl Bunaes with his wife Unn hosted a tour of the Svalbard Islands inside the arctic circle and 1800 kilometers from the north pole. Dr. Gentile found Spitsbergen to be fascinating and the sun never set the three days spent there. An arctic boat ride was never to be forgotten.
